Seriously, who does that? It's not like a Snickers bar that you can hide in your Slurpee at 7-Eleven. Headphones -- the kind I had on my desk at work -- are bulky. And they're used. Someone (me) has had them on their ears for, in this case, six or seven years. Why would someone take that?
Well, someone did. I came in to work today and noticed that my headphones, which had been in my office for four years now, were missing. Gone. Absent. Damnit! The worst part is that in a short three days, those headphones would have been in a box and on their way to my new house.
The day's saving grace: amazing key lime pie. Yum! A really good restaurant just opened up here last Saturday, and they have key lime pie on the menu. Sure, it's six bucks, but it's really good. That helps some of the sting of the headphone loss.
Anyway, I don't have much else brand new today, but I do have something old-and-new. A while ago, I posted the news that Sean Astin, Sam from The Lord of the Rings movies, will be on "24" next season. I had been working on some quotes that he might say on "24" next season if he were drunk and channeling the Sam character. I thought they were somewhat clever, but if you're not familiar with "24" or The Lord of the Rings, then you might want to just hop down to the picture.
- "This cloak is nice, but I'd prefer kevlar today."
- "Ter-ror-ists. Hunt 'em, find 'em, send to CTU."
- "Did you just rip one, Mr. Jack, or is there a legion of orcs in the backseat?"
- "Me old Gaffer always said to shoot in three-second bursts."
- "One government to rule them all, one satellite to find them. One set-of-night-vision-goggles to bring them all and in the darkness cuff them."

Hmm...
Today is apparently "Degenerate Thieving Animal" Day! ...I think I might need more key lime pie.

That monkey reminds me of Robert Blake.

Cool news about Sean Astin… I still love him from the days of Goonies.
Sorry about your headphones.
