One of my new year resolution's is to look back at any estranged relationships and to try to mend them. After taking inventory, I realized that my relationship with one particular person is at the top of my list: Debra Barone. So, in the spirit of peace and friendship, I wrote her the following letter.
Dearest Debra,
Wow, it's been a few months. About six, actually. I've had time to cool off, reflect on the things I've said. I trust you have also. Granted, some of those things needed to be said, but some didn't. But that's all in the past now. We should be pleasant to each other, Debra, not antagonistic. After all, we're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year.
That last sentence was a Pink Floyd reference. From your demeanor -- when you were on the air, that is -- I would guess that you don't listen to Pink Floyd. You should, their music is very soothing. Maybe now's the time to give them a shot, seeing as how you're not working anymore and sitting around the house collecting royalty checks from syndicated reruns. Cash a check, listen to Floyd. Cash a check, listen to Floyd.
Anyway, I'm rambling now, so I'll finish up. I hope this letter finds you healthy, kind, and happy.
Best wishes for reconciliation,
OZ
In return, I received the following letter from Debra.
Marie,
Blow it out your ass!
-D
PS: I hate Pink Floyd!
If that's the way she wants to play it, fine. Look for more Debra Barone in the coming weeks. Until then...

Enough said.
Today is "Assistants to Assistants" Day! Send them to get their own flowers!
