It's been a few months, but I'm taking up the keyboard again. Welcome back, me! Nice to have me back.
So what happened? Blogger Burnout. When I first started this a few years ago, I was shooting for five entries, one per weekday, every week. I kept that pace up for a while, but then it dropped to four, then to three. Eventually (lately), the posting frequency became "when I get to it". I think this was because I felt a growing pressure to post, and that made me not want to do it anymore. Moreover, that pressure came from myself, which made no sense. So I took some time off to see if I missed blogging, and I did. Now I'm back but without most of the pressure to constantly have something new up here.
I say "most" because I know that for me to get anything done, I need some structure. But this, after all, is a fun endeavor, so I'm not going to make set the bar too high. Here's what I'm going to do: one post per week, likely posted on the weekends. If there are more, then we can do the Dance of Joy together, whether or not we're perfect strangers. But I'll have one new post every week. Furthermore, this reduced frequency should lead to better posts -- meaning more pictures, more tangents, and more obscure references. Some would argue that that's not the definition of better, but they're all stinko-pinko communist robots, and when was the last time they got anything right?
So to you pleasant-smelling flesh-toned capitalist humans I say, "Welcome back!" And, as always, "Thanks for reading!"

Welcome back, Ounce! Just in time to promote my new blog! Okay, I haven’t written anything yet, but that puts me pretty much on par with your schedule. Of course, I do have a podcast that you haven’t put in your blogroll…
Yet…
And hey, while I have your attention, I’m going to pick your brain and ask you the same question that I just asked Jim Wang of Blueprint for Financial Prosperity: Do you find comment verification or comment moderation to work best? I noticed that you switched from verification to moderation, so I already know the answer. My real question is “Why?”–I was about to switch to verification to eliminate wait time (I installed Akismet which handles almost 100% of the spam), but then I noticed that you switched, and I demand to be informed.

Actually, I think the moderation notice is hardcoded in the new theme so I’ll have to change/remove that — DONE! I don’t actually use moderation — Akismet usually handles the comments pretty well. I used to have the captcha but Akismet has worked well. That is, until it flagged your comment as spam, and for that there is no justification. Bad, Akismet, bad! If Akismet had ears, I’d shake a tin can full of pennies at it.

You’re a good man, Carlos Brown.
It was probably marked as sp*m because I used the word sp*m (or W*ng). You’ll notice I didn’t this time, but words with asterisks might flag my message as well. We shall see.
I realized after I wrote you and W*ng that since Akismet has been blocking nearly 100% of my spam comments, there really is no need for verification or captcha. Duh. I was on cold medicine that the time.

I think I got it now. I made a small code change to the comments page and now false positives should be reduced. False prophets, though, I can do nothing about.
