I just came back from my birthday present/vacation in Miami, and it was great! I spent lots of time with family and friends, ate a turkey leg like a barbarian, and then ate everything else in sight like a barbarian. In fact, I haven't eaten since Monday morning, and I still feel full. I blame that third birthday cake I ate in one sitting. That was the pastry that broke the strawberry-filled unicorn's chocolate-covered back. Yum!
Normally, I really dislike coming back to Pittsburgh after a short Miami trip, mostly because the trip feels so short. But this time, it felt like I was gone for weeks. When I left, Pittsburgh was under roughly 100 miles of snow, give or take a bit. After a long weekend in the Sunshine State, I came back to find that 99.9 of those snow miles had melted. I was like leaving in March but returning in June. Ah, if only...
Melted snow, incidentally, is high on the list of great birthday presents. If you're looking to get me something for Christmas, feel free to take a blowtorch to the snow on my driveway. And my walkway. And some steaks, because I love barbecue.
