I've been married for four years, and have known my wife for over ten years. In all that time, we've never had a Christmas (Eve) together since I would go to see my family in Florida while she stayed around for a White Christmas in Pittsburgh.
But with the arrival of our son, something had to give.
We just had our first Christmas Eve together in Pittsburgh, and it was pretty nice. No Cuban food, loud music, dancing, or ambient warmth, but it was a nice time none the less.
I'm looking forward to Christmas in the morning. I don't know what kooky things her and the in-laws do on Christmas Day, but I bet there won't be any trips to the beach or outdoor dancing. They're a weird bunch.
Anyway, for those who celebrate it: Merry Christmas!
And for those who understand it: ¡Feliz Navidad!
